Students engage in unfamiliar contexts and theatrical devices designed to challenge audiences and artists.<br><br><strong>Semester 2:\u202f<\/strong>Theatrical Focus<strong>:\u202f<\/strong>Contemporary Australian Drama. Students engage in a familiar context and develop understanding of complex nature of Australian societal issues through analysis and performance.<br><br><strong>Assessment<br>This information applies to each semester.<br><\/strong><br>Year 10 Students are assessed according to The Arts Achievement Standards outlined in the Australian Curriculum, with A-E Grades used for reporting. <br><br>Assessment types comprise:<br><br>\u2022 <strong>Live<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Public Drama Performance\/s<\/strong>\u00a0and evaluation of the student\u2019s learning journey: Performance assessment includes improvisation, workshopping,\u00a0rehearsal\u00a0and final live public performance.\u00a0<br>\u2022 Response\/ Review: In response to watching a live or televised performance of a play, students create a written response\/review relating to the style and performance of the play.<br>\u2022 Portfolio: Research and creative ideas for a creative or technical role concerned with the play being studied. <br>This may involve students studying a practitioner such as Enoch Wesley or Brecht or a style of performance such as Epic Theatre, Storytelling, and Boal Street Theatre.<br><br><strong>Leads To<\/strong><br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.theheights.sa.edu.au\/?page_id=262\">Stage 1 Drama<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Length: Single Semester or Full YearContact: Arts Leader Recommended BackgroundNo prerequisites.
