They analyse the complex and often contradictory ideas surrounding femininity and&nbsp;masculinity, and&nbsp;consider how gender influences individuals and societal expectations. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students have a chance to work with key industry partners. In 2026, this included the chance to work with&nbsp;<em>She Shapes History<\/em>&nbsp;to bring to the forefront the stories of significant women in South Australia\u2019s history.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Students study 2 topics over 4 assignments.&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Topic\u202f1:\u202f<\/strong>Representations\u202fof\u202fWomen\u202fin\u202fCultural\u202fTexts<strong>\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Topic\u202f2:\u202f<\/strong>One of the following:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Women\u2019s\u202fAchievements,\u202fStruggles,\u202fand\u202fEmpowerment\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women,\u202fCulture,\u202fand\u202fSociety\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women and the Law\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health and well-being\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women and work\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negotiated Topic\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0<br><strong>Assessment<\/strong>\u00a0<br>Students\u2019 performance will be\u00a0determined\u00a0according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
