An advantage would be having satisfactory completion of a Year 10 subject such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Creative Arts (Digital Media or Graphic Design)<\/li><li>Photography<\/li><li>Performing Arts subject<\/li><li>Visual Arts<\/li><li>Design.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong>Course Description<\/strong><br><br>Students may choose areas of interest to focus on. Students participate in the design, development and presentation of finished Creative Arts products. Products may take the form of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Fashion Design<\/strong> <strong>(design and\/or construction of fashion items including clothing, footwear etc.<\/strong>(Child Studies\/textiles experience an advantage but not a prerequisite))<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Make Up Design\/ Special Effects Makeup etc.<\/strong> (some Drama experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Set Design\/ Props for Theatre or Film<\/strong> (some Drama experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Film\/Video: Documentary, Narrative (Storytelling), Music Video Clips, Local Tourism, Community Events<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Environmental Design (architecture, interior design, landscape design etc.)<\/strong><br><br><\/li><li><strong>Product Design (Packaging Design, Furniture Design etc.)<\/strong> (Visual Arts: Design\/ CAD\/ Woodwork experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Craft Projects<\/strong> (Child Studies\/ textiles experience an advantage but not a prerequisite)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Photographic Displays<\/strong> (DSLR experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Artworks, Public Art, Installations<\/strong> (Visual Art experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Graphic Novels, Comic Strips (for Print or Digital)<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Illustrated Children\u2019s Books (for Print or Digital)<\/strong> (Visual Art or Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Digital Music Mixing (Sibelius, Mixcraft etc.)<\/strong> (Music experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Advertising Campaigns (TV, Print, Web etc.)<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Graphic Design experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Graphic Design (Logos, Letterheads, Business Cards, Promotional Products etc.)<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Graphic Design experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Gaming Production (3D, 2D, PC, Android, iOS etc.)<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Animation (Digital, Stop Motion and Claymation)<\/strong> (Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage)<br><br><\/li><li><strong>Websites (for Business, Personal, Virtual Art Galleries, Museums etc.) <\/strong>(Creative Arts: Digital Media experience an advantage).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students are particularly encouraged to take responsibility for aspects of the Heights Website as part of their work. Some real-life experience may be offered by outside design jobs (unpaid).<br><br><strong>Assessment<\/strong><br><br>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A to E will be used for reporting purposes.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Products &#8211; students present one finished product, including support materials (Folio 1)<\/li><li>Inquiry \u2013 students investigate an area of the Creative Arts and present a response to a guided topic<\/li><li>Folio &#8211; students produce two portfolios.<ul><li>Folio 1 &#8211; based on a chosen area of the Creative Arts.<\/li><li>Folio 2 &#8211; is a record of skills development.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Leads To<\/strong><br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.theheights.sa.edu.au\/?page_id=340\">Stage 2 Creative Arts<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Length: Single Semester or Full Year (10 credits each semester)Contact: Arts Leader Recommended Background No pre-requisites.
