Completion of Year 10 Wood Technology is an advantage but not essential. Those with no experience will be supported through the basics.

Course Description<\/strong>
During one semester of study students develop such skills as basic cabinet making skills before designing and constructing their own piece, or pieces of furniture. A small cabinet with a fitted drawer is the basic requirement. Students will need to produce a comprehensive folio documenting the design process of their chosen design. The other semester focuses on creating a small box using high-level joinery and craftmanship. Students will focus on design and style as the explore different techniques using both traditional and modern processes.

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Students may be required to co-contribute towards the purchase of project materials, dependent on their personal design and choice of materials.

Assessment<\/strong>
Student achievement is assessed against the relevant Performance Standards outlined for the Design, Technology & Engineering SACE subject, with A-E Grades used for reporting purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
