The teacher assists students to develop a personal visual aesthetic through exposure to many forms and ideas in the visual arts.<br><br>Students demonstrate the use of a variety of media and techniques as they develop and refine their ideas, working towards a resolved work of art. This means using drawings, sketches and media experiments, accompanied by written annotations to document the thinking.<br><br><strong>Area of Study 2: Practical Resolution (The Practical including a Practitioner\u2019s Statement)<br><\/strong><br>Finished art works could take the form of a painting or drawing but could also include more diverse products such as video, installation, assemblage, digital imaging, mixed media, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, or textiles. Students provide an explanation of their intended meaning and evaluation of their own work through a Practitioner\u2019s Statement.<br><br><strong>Area of Study 3: Visual Study<br><\/strong><br>Students develop an idea for a visual study that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Answers a question about a practical application<\/li><li>Explores and \/ or Experiments with Concepts, Ideas<\/li><li>Media, Materials, Techniques and \/ or Technologies<\/li><li>Supports or refutes a Visual Art in practice statement.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Assessment<\/strong><br><br>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.<br><br><strong>School-based Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Folio (40%)<\/li><li>Practical (30%).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>External Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Visual Study (30%): Students submit no more than twenty A3 pages (or equivalent) of visual study, integrated with a maximum of 2000 words of written text.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Length: Full Year (20 SACE credits)Contact:\u00a0Arts Leader Recommended BackgroundNo prerequisites.
