Students apply their mathematics to diverse settings, including everyday calculations, financial management, business applications, measurement and geometry, and statistics in social contexts.<br><br>Stage 2 Essential Mathematics has an emphasis on developing students\u2019 computational skills and expanding their ability to apply their mathematical skills in flexible and resourceful ways.<br><br>This subject is intended for students planning to pursue a career in a range of trades or vocations. Students are to maintain a folio containing all assessment tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Numeracy skills with and without technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Industry relevant skills \u2013 measurement, trigonometry, relevant algebra, statistics, running a small business, investments and loans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Literacy skills \u2013 comprehension of technical problems, application writing and report writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment<br><\/strong><br>Students\u2019 performance will be determined according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
