Topics cover a diverse range of applications of mathematics, including personal&nbsp;financial management, the statistical investigation process, modelling using linear and non-linear functions, and discrete modelling using networks and matrices.&nbsp;This subject&nbsp;prepares students for entry to tertiary courses requiring a non-specialised background in mathematics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stage 2 General Mathematics topics include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modelling with Linear Relationships&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modelling with Matrices&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Statistical Models&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial Models&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discrete Models&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Subject Requirement<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>A SACE approved graphics calculator is&nbsp;required&nbsp;for this course.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.theheights.sa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Year-7-12-Calculator-Requirements-Updated.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Years 7-12 Calculator Requirements<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Assessment<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Students\u2019 performance will be&nbsp;determined&nbsp;according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
