By using functions and their derivatives and integrals, and by mathematically modelling physical processes, students develop a deep understanding of the physical world through a sound knowledge of relationships involving rates of change. Students use statistics to describe and analyse phenomena that involve uncertainty and variation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stage 2 Mathematics Methods topics include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Further Differentiation and Applications&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integral Calculus&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logarithmic Functions&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discrete Random Variables&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continuous Random Variables and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Normal Distribution&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sampling and Confidence Intervals&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Subject Requirement<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>A SACE approved graphics calculator is&nbsp;required&nbsp;for this course.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/curric.theheights.sa.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Year-7-12-Calculator-Requirements-Updated.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Years 7-12 Calculator Requirements<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Assessment<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Students\u2019 performance will be&nbsp;determined&nbsp;according to the subject\u2019s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board.
