Those with no experience will be supported through the basics.<br><br><strong>Course Description<\/strong><br>In Stage 2 Digital Technologies students create practical, innovative solutions to problems of interest. By extracting, interpreting, and modelling real-world data sets, students identify trends and examine sustainable solutions to problems in, for example, business, industry, the environment, and the community.<br><br>They investigate how potential solutions are influenced by current and projected social, economic, environmental, scientific, and ethical considerations, including relevance, originality, appropriateness, and sustainability.<br><br>Digital technologies have changed the ways that people think, work, and live. The application of digital technologies can lead to discoveries, new learning, and innovative approaches to understanding and solving problems.<br><br>The study of Digital Technologies provides a platform for deep interdisciplinary learning. Students make connections with innovation in other fields and across other learning areas.<br><br><strong>Assessment<\/strong><br>Student achievement is assessed against the relevant Performance Standards outlined for the Digital Technology SACE subject, with A+ to E- Grades used for reporting purposes.<br><br><strong>School-based Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three\/Four Project Skills Tasks (50%): Students produce three or four project skills tasks in which they examine approaches to identifying, deconstructing, and solving problems of interest by applying: Computational thinking skills, data analysis skills, design and programming skills, and\/or iterative project-development techniques. (Combined the tasks consists of a total 20 min presentation in multimodal form)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborative Project (20%): Students apply their learning about iterative project development by creating a digital solution to a problem through a collaborative project. The digital solution can be a product, prototype, or a proof of concept. (Consists of a total 8 mins walkthrough in multimodal form).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>External Assessment:<\/strong><br>Individual Digital Solution (30%): Comprises of the following 2 parts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Part One: Digital Solution or Prototype<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Part Two: Designers Statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Individual Digital Solution consists of a total 18 mins presented in multimodal form.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Length: Full Year (20 SACE credits)Contact: Technologies Leader Recommended BackgroundNo Prerequisites.
