Recommended Background

Course Description
Students study 2 topics over 4 assignments.
Topic 1: The Changing World Order (1945-present)
Topic 2: Nation Study (in 2025 the topic was China but could be any one of Russia, Germany or the United States.)
Topic 3: Personal Endeavour: Independent choice historical study
Assessment
Students’ performance will be determined according to the subject’s Performance Standards, as outlined by the SACE Board. Grades A+ to E- will be used for reporting purposes.
School-based Assessment:
- Practical Inquiry (40%): Two tasks covering Topic 1 and 2.
- Connections (30%) Students undertake a task to be achieved through collaboration. The task will relate to the historical content being studied. They identify their individual role and responsibility in the task and communicate their contribution. They evaluate their learning as a result of their collaboration and consider self-assessment, feedback from others and their development of a relevant capability.
- Personal Endeavour (30%) An historical study into an aspect of the world. Students will choose what topic they wish to investigate.
