Course Description
Year 10 Child Studies focuses on the period of childhood from conception to 8 years. Students develop an understanding of issues related to child development, including health and nutrition and investigating how play assists physical, social and emotional development. The course involves practical aspects and will include working with children.

Assessment
Assessment types include a sequence of practical Skills Tasks, written research Tasks, and a Major Design Project that is documented through a multimodal Design Folio.

Student achievement is assessed according to the Design & Technology Achievement Standards outlined in the Australian Curriculum, with A-E Grades used for reporting.
