Course Description
Year 7 Technologies provides students with an introduction to design thinking, creativity and problem-solving through an interdisciplinary rotation of Digital Technologies and Fashion & Textiles.

In Digital Technologies, students develop computational thinking and programming skills through the design and creation of digital games. They learn to analyse problems, create algorithms, and use visual programming tools to develop interactive experiences while exploring the role of technology in society.

In Fashion & Textiles, students investigate ethical and sustainable design practices while designing and producing textile products. They explore the impact of consumer choices on people and the environment, develop practical skills in textile construction, and apply the design process to create innovative and responsible solutions.

Assessment
Assessment types include a sequence of practical Skills Tasks, and a Major Design Project that is documented through a Design Folio.

Student achievement is assessed according to the Digital Technology, and Design & Technology Achievement Standards outlined in the Australian Curriculum, with A-E Grades used for reporting.
